About Me

As a media composer with a diverse range of musical skills, including piano, orchestral percussion, guitar, and singing, Alec Ruiter is committed to creating dynamic and emotive scores that enhance the storytelling and create immersive experiences for the listener. Alec's background as a classical pianist (13 years) and orchestral percussionist (9 years) gives him a strong foundation in music theory, while his multicultural perspective and love of world music influences inspire him to bring a sense of diversity and unity to his compositions.

In addition to his work in the film industry, Alec has also been actively involved in promoting diversity and inclusion in his community. He has co-founded the Student Diversity Initiative, spoken at universities on youth empowerment, and worked with teachers and administrators to incorporate social justice and racial literacy into the curriculum in Hillsborough. Through his efforts, Alec went to ALJBS and was given the honor of being a youth state assemblyman where he helped pass bills to Phil Governor Murphy.

As a media composer with an increasingly busy schedule from clients in NYC and LA, Alec is dedicated to delivering high-quality, industry-standard music and sound editing that meets the needs of his clients. He is always looking for opportunities to improve and grow as an artist, and is grateful for the chance to take on new challenges and collaborate with directors and other creative professionals.
